NEWS
NIJMEGEN MARCH
Congratulations to Sergeant A Watt and the Northern Ireland Wing Nijmegen team for completing the gruelling four day march in Holland.

The team also won the Jon Ford Trophy for the best Royal Air Force Air Cadet contingent.

Sergeant Watt was also awarded the best cadet within the team.
MOUNTAIN BIKING
Our Cadets & Staff regularly visit the mountain bike trails at some of our local beauty spots such as Castleward & Castlewellan.

It's a great activity to improve fitness & coordination.

GOLD DOFE CANOEING EXPEDITION
We recently had eight cadets that took to the water to complete the expedition section of their Gold Duke Of Edinburgh award.

The cadets spent 4 days canoeing (approx 25km each day) & 3 nights wild camping on Lough Erne. An unforgettable experience!
LORD LIEUTENANTS CADET
Congratulations to Flight Sergeant C Hayles who was appointed as the Lord Lieutenants Cadet for Co. Armagh from March 2017 to March 2018.

A fantastic achievement, well done!
SHOOTING
We recently purchased our own Air Rifle Range where cadets have the opportunity to carry out Weapons Handling & participate in Live Firing & Marksmanship Training at the Squadron.

This is a fantastic skill that improves discipline & hand-eye coordination.
RC FLYING
We are currently the only Squadron in Northern Ireland with its own Remote Control Flying Club.

Cpl L Aiken has carried out a number of sorties with our approved instructor & is now preparing to undertake his Category A Licence.
ITS NOT ALL WORK
At the start of each summer when our young people are revising for exams, we relax our programme to give them some down-time.

It normally consists of a few sports evenings & firing up the BBQ.
INTER-SQUADRON ATHLETICS
We ensure that sport is a regular part of our programme. It increases fitness, builds upon communication skills & teamwork.
